iN2015 Digital Media and Entertainment (DME)

Under iN2015 DME vision, IDA aims to develop Singapore into a top global business location for digital media and entertainment industry by 2015.

Singapore’s strong competitive advantages of a liberalized telecommunications industry, excellent global infocomm connectivity and its brand as a trusted hub for management of Intellectual Property present an opportunity for Singapore to play a leading role in Asia’s Digital Media and Entertainment industry. To achieve this, key programmes have been identified as follows:

       

1. Digital Marketplace Programme (DMP) – to develop Singapore as Asia’s trusted management and distribution hub for digital media assets.

2. Connected Games Programme – to further promote Singapore as a leading regional centre for developing, managing and distributing games content and services.

 

Singapore Landscape

The Digital Media and Entertainment industry in Singapore has been growing steadily over the past few years. Between 2006 and 2007, the total revenue grew at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12.6% to S$2.32 billion. During the same period, the Value-Added increased at a CAGR of 18.3%, while the ICT spending by the DME industry saw a rise of 21.5%.
