Green, and you’re safe. Red, and you better get out of it.

Jan 10, 2008: When you are surfing the Web, there can be unsecure sites which you are not aware. Once you get in, your computer would be hit by virus, malware and other menaces.

But with Securite from Advanced Network Technology Laboratories (ANTlabs), a Singapore software developer, you can surf safely and confidently. On a computer that has been installed with Securite, a shield icon lights up green when a site has been authenticated and red when a threat is detected. It is a form of end-point internet transaction security and complements the existing safeguards provided by anti-virus software.

Among the 300 and more public Internet kiosks in Changi Airport, Securite has been installed in 275 of them, and ANTlabs is likely to continue to go on with the rest in the near future. The kiosks are in the restricted area after you have gone through the immigration checks.

While waiting to board your plane, you may want to surf the Web via the kiosks. With Securite, you can be assured that your personal data is well protected at all levels from phishing, malware/spyware, keyloggers and hackers when you check your email and transact online.

“We spent 3 years to develop Securite and invested more than US$1.25M in the solution”, says Mr Ang Kwang Tat, CEO of ANTlabs.

Since late last year, ANTlabs has been in discussions with RadianTrust to bundle and integrate with their optical document security solution, called Phidelity. This provides an end-to-end solution for protecting online and corporate imaging and document assets for corporate customers. Concurrently ANTlabs is also talking to various partners and government agencies for possible partnership.

Securite’s Business Model

ANTlabs provides flexible charging based on the business model - it can be per transaction or per annual software and maintenance subscription basis depending on the project and nature of transactions.

Besides collaborating with The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, ANTlabs is also targeting the banks, online share-trading and e-retailers, online gaming, and e-government applications.

Key to Securite’s success

Unlike the anti-virus solutions today which are still using the decade-old approach of relying on a signature database to detect known threats, Securite solution delivers anti-malware protection based on a white-list approach (the good sites), which does not require constant updating of malware signatures and is effective against zero day and man-in-the-middle attacks. The solution combats security breaches before they occur, ensures smooth operation of corporate/personal workstations at all times through real-time monitoring and constant surveillance, and integrates seamlessly with your computer.
