Business intelligence on demand

June 2009: The business environment is very demanding, in terms of accessing critical information at short notice. Opportunities can be lost, deals overlooked and wrong decisions implemented because information is not easily accessible.

To meet such needs, Elixir Technology is launching new Ad Hoc modules that plug in to its well-known business intelligence product range, Elixir Repertoire 7. The first two plug-in modules to be released will be Ad Hoc Report and Ad Hoc Analysis, in July.

With the Ad Hoc modules, there is no need for SQL or database schema. With visual drag-and-drop GUI interface, users can run queries and create reports without having to know the technicalities of the schema and SQL.

There is also no need for programmers. With the advanced and intuitive features for enterprise-like reports, users by themselves can sort, filter, and aggregate fields with calculations without help from the IT department.

Whether it is to share the reports with other users, or to generate reports to address the out of ordinary business questions, the users are put in charge by accessing and reviewing the information whenever they need, easily.

No installation or deployment is required for the new modules which are delivered over Web browsers. For existing Elixir Repertoire users, they are also offered with seamless integration as a plug-in to Repertoire architecture.

Business intelligence as Web services

Elixir Repertoire 7 takes business intelligence to the next level of open interoperability by fully embracing the Service-Oriented Architecture, making available BI capabilities as Web Services. Through its REST APIs, Web-enabled applications can easily interface with Repertoire Server, regardless of the application front-end in use.

Riding on Web 2.0, Repertoire 7 acts as the unifying business intelligence engine to power the new generation of enterprise applications.
Leveraging the platform-independent foundation services, you can incorporate business intelligence functionality into enterprise applications regardless of the programming languages used, including Java, .NET, Perl, AJAX, Ruby, and Adobe Flex.

Key features include Information Dashboard, Enterprise Reporting, ETL, and Job Scheduling. They can be freely chosen and combined, offering executives, analysts and developers a clear path to BI on demand.
