CADI Creates Medical Equipment Breakthrough

Backed by a panel of experienced medical advisors and a renowned professor, CADI Scientific was incorporated in Singapore to harness latest technology to develop wireless sensing and tracking devices for enhancing patient care. With early stage investment from National University of Singapore (NUS) Technology Holdings and Economic Development Board of Singapore’s (EDB’s) Seeds Capital, the CADI team has successfully developed CADI SmartSense, a revolutionary product for automated patient temperature monitoring, location tracking and contact tracing. An integrated wireless sensing and tracking system for monitoring other vital signs, tracking of the location of equipment, and even monitoring of environmental conditions is planned to fully leverage on CADI SmartSense's framework.

Developed by CADI Scientific, CADI SmartSense is a revolutionary integrated wireless sensing system for automated patient temperature monitoring, location tracking and contact tracing.

Patient’s temperature and location can now be measured and tracked continuously via a small disc-like sensor comfortably pasted on the body. This is made possible by CADI's wireless temperature monitoring and location tracking module. This product has obtained the Singapore TEC Innovator Award (TEC is a unit under the Singapore Prime Minister’s Office) and was successfully piloted in Singapore General Hospital.

Patient’s temperature and location are monitored 24/7 by a small disc known as ThermoSENSOR pasted on patient’s body with the use of medical adhesive dressing. With this system, patients would have better uninterrupted rest, especially after surgery, while their temperatures are being measured continuously, automatically and unnoticeably.

Nurses no longer need to go through the tedious and repetitive process of taking patients’ temperatures manually, charting the values on paper and keying them into the hospital information system. In addition, as patients’ locations are also tracked, this system not only enhances patient care, it enhances patient safety too.

"We foresee that hospitals will leverage wireless sensing devices to enhance patient care, patient safety and reduce nurses workload," says Dr Zenton Goh, director and CEO of Cadi Scientific.
